Tyron Woodley, Wonderboy Thompson at each other’s throats on ESPN
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson went at each other’s throats today during an interview with ESPN leading up to their UFC 209 rematch fight on March 4.
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson stop by SportsCenter to talk about their rematch at UFC 209 and how their first fight finished.
“Any person – the three blind mice could have watched that fight – many referees would have stopped that contest when I dropped (Thompson) for the third time in the fourth round,” Woodley said.
Their first fight at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden was ruled a draw.
Today, Wonderboy argued, “If you’re the champion – If I was the champion – you run it back. How can you be OK with a draw? After we drew he’s already asking for fighters. Run it back, man.”
Woodley vs. Thompson 2 will headline UFC 209, while an interim UFC lightweight title bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov will serve as the evening’s co-main event.Follow MyMMANews.com on Social Media
