Tyson Pedro impressively stops Harry Hunsucker early at UFC 278

Tyson Pedro victorious

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, August 20, 2022, for UFC 278, going down live on pay-per-view from the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Headlining the event is a title clash rematch between UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman (20-1) and no. 2 ranked Leon Edwards (19-3).

Co-headlining the card is former UFC & Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold (16-5), who returns to the octagon for the first time in over three years tonight to face former title challenger, no. 6 ranked Paulo Costa (13-2).

Our first bout on the main card tonight showcased a very highly touted prospect in Tyson Pedro (8-3), who just returned himself after a near four-year break earlier this year in April and faced Harry Hunsucker (7-5) to open up the main card.

Official Result:  Tyson Pedro def. Harry Hunsucker via TKO (snap kick and punches) at 1:05 of round one

Pedro takes the center of the octagon and soon catches Hunsucker with a jab as he was coming in. To our surprise, the jab stunned Hunsucker, and Pedro pursues him. Pedro lands a nasty front snap kick to the body and forces Hunsucker to hunch over and cover up, absorbing more strikes until the fight was stopped.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
