UFC cancels August 19 pay-per-view, moves UFC 215 to September 9
UFC announced Monday that UFC 215 will take place on September 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The event marks the promotion’s first visit to Edmonton. An originally planned August Pay-Per-View event has been removed from the schedule.
The August 19 event was supposed to take place one week prior to the mega boxing event between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
This is the second time the UFC has canceled a pay-per-view this year. UFC 208 in Anaheim was originally scheduled for January 21, but due to a lack of suitable headliners the card was cancelled, and the February 11 event in Brooklyn changed from UFC 209 to 208.
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson was expected to headline the August card.
