UFC 234 medical suspensions: Adesanya and Silva get six-months

UFC 234 was the first pay-per-view of 2019, and it was supposed to clear up the middleweight division. Robert Whittaker was looking to defend his title against Kelvin Gastelum. While in the co-main event, Israel Adesanya was taking on former champion, Anderson Silva.

Ultimately, Whittaker had to pull out of the fight, which left Adesanya to fight Silva in the main event. The fight was more competitive than anticipated and the fight went the distance. Following the fight, the question remains of whether Adesanya would leapfrog Gastelum and get the next title shot. Well, it appears that may not be the case anymore as Adesanya, like Silva has been medically suspended for six months.
