Jan Blachowicz, UFC 267 preview

UFC 239 results: Jan Blachowicz knocks out Luke Rockhold

On Saturday night, the UFC returned to their home base for the culmination of International Fight Week, UFC 239. The event took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the light heavyweight division, Jan Blachowicz welcomed Luke Rockhold to 205 pounds as part of the event’s main card.

Rockhold, the former UFC middleweight champion, returned to the Octagon for the first time in nearly 15 months. The 34-year-old took on Yoel Romero for a chance to become the interim middleweight champion at UFC 221 and was knocked out in the third round. Rockhold was scheduled to return in November at UFC 230 in New York but was forced out of the bout with an injury. Ready to take on a new opponent in a new weight class, Rockhold had his sights set on the winner of the UFC 239 main event for an opportunity to become a world champion once again.

Standing in his way was Blachowicz, who was making his 32nd professional appearance. Blachowicz was riding an impressive four-fight winning streak into his last fight against Thiago Santos at UFC on ESPN+ 3 in February. Santos would finish the fight in the third round to snap Blachowicz’s streak, and set himself up for the UFC 239 main event against Jon Jones.

Here is how the fight went down at UFC 239 between Luke Rockhold and Jan Blachowicz, including round-by-round scoring.
