Garbrandt vs. Assuncao

UFC 250 adds Cody Garbrandt vs. Raphael Assuncao

The fight news keeps coming with newly added fights to UFC 250. In a recent string of fight announcements, Cody Garbrandt vs. Raphael Assuncao is set for UFC 250. First reported to be in the works by MMAFighting, Damon Martin, the short notice fight may show which fighter still belongs in title contention. Though both fighters have continued training, Assuncao will be the more active fighter. However, Garbrandt’s time off may make him the fresher fighter.

Garbrandt (11-3) is looking to end his three-fight losing streak in this bantamweight showdown. After suffering a setback due to kidney issues, Garbrandt will step up against yet another top-five opponent. After back-to-back losses against TJ Dillishaw, suffered a fight of the night loss to Pedro Munhoz. Will the year long rest help get “No Love” back in the bantamweight discussion?

Assuncao (27-7-0), looks to continue his bantamweight climb after a decision victory over Cory Sandhagen last year. Currently the no. 5 ranked bantamweight, Assuncao will look to extend Garbrandt’s losing streak while climbing into another title shot.

UFC 250 adds a banger to their card that It should be noted that neither fighter has competed yet in 2020. Currently, UFC 250 features Amanda Nunes vs. Felicia Spencer in the main event. I would expect mroe fights announced throughout the day to round out this card.
