UFC attempting to rebook Julia Avila vs. Karol Rosa for June 13
It appears the UFC will try and book a women’s bantamweight fight between Julia Avila and Karol Rosa for the fourth time.
MMA Fighting reported that the promotion is close to finalizing the fight for their June 13 card. There is no location for the event at this time.
Avila, a former Invicta FC fighter, signed with the UFC in late 2018. She won her UFC debut at UFC 239 in July by picking up a unanimous decision win over Pannie Kianzad.
Rosa also debuted in the UFC over the summer this past August. She made the best of her debut by earning a split decision victory over Lara Procopio. Rosa is currently riding a three-fight winning streak.
The two were originally scheduled to fight in Singapore in October 2019, but Rosa was forced to withdraw due to an injury. The UFC rebooked the fight for April 11 and then again on May 2. Both events were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
There is no official main event for June 13. A bantamweight bout between top contenders Marlon Moraes and Petr Yan were scheduled to headline the card in Kazakhstan before the location was ruled out due to the ongoing pandemic.
