UFC Brooklyn medical suspension revealed; 3 fighters suspended for 60 days
The UFC held their first show of 2019 on Saturday and it sure delivered. Not only was it the first show of 2019, it was also the first show of the ESPN-era.
UFC Brooklyn or UFC on ESPN+ 1 was headlined by a flyweight title fight in which Henry Cejudo knocked out T.J. Dillashaw in just 32 seconds. Along with that, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone turned back the clock and put on an impressive performance over Alexander Hernandez. Cerrone took the fight to Hernandez and score an impressive TKO win over the prospect.
Other notable performances include Gregor Gillespie dominating Yancy Medeiros, in which Medeiros landed one punch. This was supposed to be Gillespie’s toughest fight to date and he had no trouble at all. Other notable wins include the likes of Geoff Neal scoring a unanimous decision win over Belal Muhammed.
Following the fights, each fighter is medically suspended or until a doctor allows them to return to action. Karl Roberson, Alexander Hernandez, and Belal Muhammad all received 60-day suspensions. Meanwhile, although Allen Crowder won the fight, he is out for at least 30 days partly due to the fact that the doctors had to stop the fight due to the illegal knee Greg Hardy threw which connected. Crowder the fell back to the mat but has said he is totally fine and healthy.
