A light heavyweight matchup between Tafon Nchukwi and Al Matavao is being targeted for episode six of the fourth season of Dana White’s Contender Series on Sept. 8.
MMA Junkie was the first to report the matchup, taking place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nchukwi is undefeated at 3-0 and is yet to go into the third round with three TKO finishes. The 25-year-old accomplished all of this as a heavyweight.
He will make his 205 pound debut against Matavao
Most recently fighting at 225 pounds, Nchukwi finished UFC development deal fighter William Knight via first-round TKO at CFFC 80 in November 2019.
Tafon Nchukwi also put away Alex Meyers and AT McCowin.
Al Matavao is slightly more seasoned with an 8-2 record. He is riding a four-fight win streak, most recently finishing Collin Mansanas in 16 seconds at Destiny MMA on Feb. 23.
Like his opponent, Matavao is a proven finisher with six stoppages to his name.
