UFC Fight Night 139 results – Korean Zombie vs. Yair Rodriguez
UFC Fight Night 139 headlined by the ‘Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung vs. Yair Rodríguez will be held at the Pepsi Center in Denver, November 10. The card celebrates the UFC’s 25 year anniversary. UFC 1 was held November 12, 1993 in the same city.
A lot of controversy in the fight between Bobby Moffett and Chas Skelly. Skelly appeared to be defending a choke, relaxing his body in an attempt to create space. The referee, doing his job to protect the fighter, swept in and called and end to the contest. Instant replay was used and after several reviews the fight was declared a technical knockout victory in favor of Moffett. Skelly apologized for any comments he made toward the referee, chalking it up to ‘heat of the moment.’
Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone earned his 21st in the UFC, breaking the UFC wins record he shared with Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping; and his 15th career finish set that UFC mark, putting him ahead of Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort. He defeated Mike Perry in the night’s co-main event.
An absolute classic in the main event as Rodriguez and Jung go all five rounds and with just one second left in the fight Jung is knocked out cold from an upward elbow. Absolutely unbelievable.
