Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot

UFC Fight Night Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot – Prediction & Preview

Arman Tsarukyan will battle Mateusz Gamrot in UFC action on the 26th of June for the Lightweight title. The fight will take place in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex facility. Betting websites have Arman Tsarukyan as the clear favourite to win at the moment. We’re here to preview the upcoming fight and provide our predictions.

Starting with 25-year-old Arman Tsarukyan, he’s currently ranked #11 in the UFC lightweight rankings and comes into this fight with a 20-2 record. He last fought Joel Álvarez and won via TKO (punches) on the 26th of February at this venue. It was his first fight of 2022 after beating Giagos / Frevola in 2021. He is apart of the Lion Heart team and was born in Georgia.

Mateusz Gamrot is the more experienced of the pair having started his MMA career in 2012. He boasts a 20-1 record in his career. His last fight was in 2021 when he defeated Carlos Diego Ferreira by TKO (submission to knee to the body) in Round 2. Gamrot was born in Poland and is currently 31 years old. He has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

This will be the first time that Tsarukyan faces Gamrot in the UFC and the bout has been tipped as a look into the future of the lightweight category. As a result, the fight was promoted into the main event on June 26.

Both fighters are in great form and hold impressive win records in the UFC. So we can see this going the full distance. Gamrot has experience on his side and has been hard to beat after losing to Guram Kutateladze in October 2020. So putting your money on the underdog could pay off. But Tsarukyan is younger and will be looking to make a statement as he moves up the lightweight rankings.

One of the interesting aspects of this clash is the fact that it’s been extended to 5 rounds. Generally, most non-main event UFC fights have a maximum of 3 rounds. But since this bout was upgraded to the main event, it will go the full 5 rounds. UFC 263 was an exemption from this rule and the rounds can vary depending on each fight night. However, all UFC fights have a 5 minute limit for each round and this is strictly adhered to.

Generally, the UFC can be watched in Australia via live streaming services such as ESPN and Kayo Sports. The UFC 274 main card is available via pay-per-view on Main Event and Kayo Sports. Otherwise, local sports bars and pubs are your best bet for watching the action live.
