UFC on FOX 27 Results – Souza vs Brunson 2

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held UFC on FOX 27 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, Saturday, January 27.  The fight card would feature two fights on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 4 p.m. ET. Six additional preliminary-card bouts air live on FOX Sports 1 at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the four-fight main card at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

The main event was a rematch between middleweight contenders Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Derek Brunson. The two competed against one another under the Strikeforce banner in August 2012. Souza knocked Brunson out in just 41 seconds. He will look to rebound from a second-round TKO loss to current champion Robert Whittaker in his last outing. Brunson is coming off back-to-back knockout wins over Lyoto Machida and Dan Kelly.  The fight tonight lasted longer than the first by a few minutes but the result the same.

Yesterday all fighters made weight without incident and the fight card would proceed with 12 bouts.
