Hernandez burst onto the UFC scene with a quick, 42 second finish of Beneil Dariush at UFC 222 last March. “The Great” would make it a perfect 2-0 in the Octagon for 2018 with a hard fought decision victory over Olivier Aubin-Mercier to kick off July’s UFC Calgary main card. Hernandez brought an 8-fight winning streak, and a lot of confidence — as he told MyMMANews.com — into the fight.

Cerrone returned to the lightweight division for the first time since December 2015. “Cowboy” moved up to welterweight and compiled a 6-4 record in the process. In his most recent appearance, Cerrone submitted Mike Perry in the first round at the UFC’s 25th Anniversary event in Denver.
