The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, June 18, 2022, for UFC on ESPN 37, going down live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

Headlining the event is a featherweight bout between a pair of ranked contenders in Calvin Kattar (23-5) and Josh Emmett (17-2), and co-headlining is a welterweight showcase between Kevin Holland and Tim Means, as Donald Cerrone versus Joe Lauzon fell through on fight day for the second time in a row this spring.

Kevin Holland (22-7-0, 1 NC) and Tim Means (32-12-1, 1 NC) move into the co-main event and are ready to make fireworks happen. Both fighters are coming off wins and an abundance of experience inside the cage. Holland has a strong reach advantage as his 81″ reach extends 6″ longer than Means.

Means is a well-rounded fighter that is capable of performing no matter the geography of the fight. Holland is a fighter with incredible power in his hands. A win for one of these welterweights can earn the victor a spot on the welterweight division rankings.

Follow the fight round-by-round below:

Round 1: 

They touch gloves at the center of the cage. They exchange strikes right away. Means looking for the double leg takedown against the cage and Holland fights it off. They are back at the center of the cage. Holland throws a side kick to the body. Holland is throwing head kicks and then a knee. Holland goes for a knee and Means scores a takedown and Holland gets right back up. The Austin native lands a nice combo. Means forcing Holland against the cage in the clinch. “Trailblazer” lands another combo. Holland lands a leg kick and then they start swinging as both fighters land strikes in a flurry. Holland blasted Means with a right hand and then he moves in and Means scored a takedown at the end of the round.

Round 2:

After an exchange, Holland landing shots on Means. Holland lands a strike that wobbles Means and then scores a submission that forced a quick tap against Means. Holland slapped the right leg of Means with his left hand and landed the straight right which hurt Means, and ended the fight with a submission via D’arce choke.
