UFC on ESPN 9 results – Woodley vs. Burns
The UFC returns to Las Vegas with UFC on ESPN 9, headlined by a welterweight bout between former champion Tyron Woodley and up and comer, Gilbert Burns.
In the opening round, of the opening bout, Factory X Muay Thai prospect Chris Gutierrez immediately attacked the legs of Vince Morales. Bruising and swelling was immediately apparent and Morales was hurt, but not out. Gutierrez continued to chop away at the trunks of Morales, crippling him to the canvas on multiple occasions before referee Jason Herzog called an end to the contest.
In the second fight of the night, Casey Kenney made quick work of UFC veteran Louis Smolka, forcing a tap by way of guillotine just shortly after three minutes into the contest.
Welcome to the UFC Brandon Royval. How impressive was this? Royval submits former UFC flyweight title contender Tim Elliott in the second round by way of arm triangle choke.
Jamahal Hill remains undefeated with a first round TKO victory over Klidson Abreu. Impressive fight for the youngster.
What an incredible performance for former flyweight title contender Katlyn Chookagian who extracts revenge on champion Valentina Shevchenko by completely dominating her sister Antonina, earning a 30-25 decision on all judges’ scorecards.
