UFC partners with ALH Group to become official home of UFC in Australia

UFC today announced a multi-year partnership with ALH Group, Australia’s largest operator of licensed venues. The partnership establishes each of ALH Group’s venues as the “Official Home of UFC” in Australia, providing an unsurpassed viewing experience for fans to enjoy all the action from the Octagon.

“We are truly excited to partner with ALH Group and making their venues around country the home of UFC in Australia,” UFC Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships, Paul Asencio said. “Grabbing your mates and heading to your favorite local is a brilliant way to enjoy UFC. We look forward to delivering the best possible viewing experiences for our fans in Australia with this collaboration, as we continue to grow the sport of mixed martial arts with the support of strong partners.”

UFC and ALH will launch the partnership ahead of one of the most anticipated events in UFC history, UFC® 229: KHABIB vs. MCGREGOR, presented by Harley-Davidson, on Sunday, October 7. Fans are welcome at Crows Nest Hotel on Thursday, October 4, to celebrate the newly formed partnership along with special appearances from #10 ranked UFC heavyweight, Tai Tuivasa and #14 ranked UFC light heavyweight, Tyson Pedro.

The announcement comes just weeks after Western Sydney local, Tuivasa was confirmed to face Brazilian legend and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos as the headline bout for UFC® FIGHT NIGHT: DOS SANTOS vs. TUIVASA on Sunday, December 2, at the Adelaide Entertainment Center. Fresh off the press and just added to the Adelaide card is Tyson Pedro. Pedro is up against fellow Brazilian, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

A new digital venue locator, www.bars.ufc.com/betteratthepub, will allow fans to find their closest “Official Home of UFC.” Proving it really is ‘Better at the Pub’, unique promotions along with UFC athlete appearances, like those kicking off on October 4 at the group’s Crows Nest gem, will further viewing experiences of the global brand at ALH venues.

“We are excited to form this partnership with UFC. We are committed to the growth and interest in the sport and look forward to making every event live and free throughout our network of hotels in Australia”, said ALH Group CEO Bruce Jnr Mathieson.

The action from inside the world-famous Octagon continues on Sunday, October 7 with UFC® 229: KHABIB vs. MCGREGOR live on Pay-Per-View from Las Vegas and available for viewing at all ALH Group’s venues. “The Notorious” Conor McGregor returns in an attempt to retake the UFC lightweight title from unbeaten UFC lightweight champion Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229.
