UFC Tampa results: Niko Price finishes James Vick with second upkick KO in UFC history

On Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, the UFC returned to Florida for UFC on ESPN+ 19.

The event took place at Amalie Arena in Tampa and was headlined by a women’s strawweight bout between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Michelle Waterson.

One of the most anticipated fights on the card was a welterweight matchup between Niko Price and James Vick. Price is looking to bounce back from his most recent bout, a second round TKO loss to Geoff Neal at UFC 240 in July.

Vick would make his debut in the welterweight division after losing three straight fights at 155 pounds. Most recently, Vick was finished in the first round by Dan Hooker at July’s UFC San Antonio card.

Here is how the welterweight matchup between Niko Price and James Vick went down at UFC Tampa, including round by round results. For full UFC Tampa results, check them out right here.

ROUND 1

Big hometown ovation for Price who is from Cape Coral — about a two hour drive from Tampa. Herb Dean is now the referee. Both guys trade big shots to kick the fight off. Price lands a hard leg kick. Vick with a nice left hand as Price stalks forward. Vick with a side kick to the body. Price drops Vick and gets on top in half guard. Short elbow from Price and Vick is trying to wall walk back to his feet. Price pulls Vick away from the fence. Vick back up and Price shoots again. Vick is on top unloading punches. Vick stands up and Price lands an upkick from hell! Price lands four or five more punches, but Vick is out cold and Herb Dean stops it. Unbelievable!
