UFC Vegas 58 results – Dos Anjos vs. Fiziev

UFC Vegas 58 takes place at UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The July 9 main card airs live on ESPN/ESPN+ while prelims go to ESPN2/ESPN+. MyMMANews will have your UFC Vegas 58 results below.

In the night’s main event, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos meets the equally dangerous Rafael Fiziev.

Fiziev and dos Anjos were originally set to meet in February, but the fight was later shifted to March, and then the fight ended up being canceled entirely when Fiziev tested positive for COVID-19. Instead of fighting Fiziev, dos Anjos ended up fighting Renato Moicano in a five-round non-title bout, and he dominated the fight en route to a decision.

Fiziev (31-13) is the No. 10 ranked lightweight in the UFC. Since joining the UFC back in 2019, Fiziev is 5-1 inside the Octagon, and he is currently riding an impressive five-fight win streak. In his most recent outing, Fiziev knocked out Brad Riddell to announce himself as a top contender. He also has a notable win over fan-favorite Bobby Green, and his lone UFC loss came in his debut to Magomed Mustafaev. Like dos Anjos, Fiziev also has a win over the aforementioned Moicano, though by KO.

Dos Anjos (11-1) is the No. 6 ranked lightweight in the UFC. Despite being 37 now, RDA has looked great as of late, being Moicano and Paul Felder in his last two outings in what were both five-round fights. Dos Anjos is, of course, the former UFC lightweight champion, and he will likely be a UFC Hall of Famer one day when it’s all said and done. That being said, he still believes he can make one last title run, and if he can get past Fiziev in this contest, it should set up RDA with another big-name fight.
