Andre Fialho

UFC’s welterweight division has a dangerous new contender in Andre Fialho

UFC welterweight newcomer, Andre Fialho, has put the division on notice following his 2022 showings thus far.

With just three fights under the UFC banner, the 28-year-old has already scored two highlight knockouts and gone the distance with a top 20 contender.

Since signing with the promotion at the start of the year, Fialho has gone 2-1. His sole loss came in his promotional debut, in which he lost a unanimous decision against Michel Pereira. Following that bout, Fialho returned three months later to take on the highly respected Miguel Baeza. It would take Fialho just under one round to finish the prospect.

One month later, Fialho went on to do this to Cameron VanCamp.

With a professional record of 16-4-0 and 1 NC, Fialho holds 14 finishes under his belt. Throughout his career, he has obtained 12 first-round finishes, including an 18-second finish over Dana White Contender Series alumn Sang Hoon Yoo.

Following his bout at UFC 274, Fialho told media that he is making a quick turnaround. It has been confirmed that we will see Fialho back in the octagon on June 11th for UFC 275.

For how active and dominant Fialho has been, it would not be a surprise to see him break into the top 20 of the UFC welterweight division by the end of the year, maybe even the top 15.

What do you make of Fialho’s UFC run thus far, and do you see him breaking into the top of the division by the end of the year?
