Umar Nurmagomedov

Umar Nurmagomedov and Nathaniel Wood added to UFC’s event on July 25

Umar Nurmagomedov will make his UFC debut against Nathaniel Wood at “Fight Island” on July 25.

First reported on from the “Mo Hosani 360” podcast, the two bantamweights will meet at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Nurmagomedov’s octagon debut comes later than expected. He was slated to fight Hunter Azure at UFC 249 on April 18, but the bout was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Undefeated as a professional, Umar Nurmagomedov is fresh off a Gorilla Fighting Championship [GFC] title victory. He tapped Brian Gonzalez in the first round at GFC 20 in November 2019.

Wood is coming off a loss after winning eight-consecutive bouts. He lost by a third-round knockout to John Dodson at UFC on ESPN+ 25 on Feb. 15.

Previously, he won three-straight bouts inside the octagon with wins over Jose Alberto Quinonez, Andre Ewell and Johnny Eduardo.

Broadcast information for the event is unavailable at this time.
