At 20-years of age, Francis Marshall has already recorded five amateur mixed martial arts wins and is set to make his pro debut. The Kurt Pellegrino stand out fighter will lock horns with Keith Forant at Maverick MMA 15 in Scranton, Pennsylvania on November 9.
The fight takes place when the promotion invades ‘The Electric City’ for the very first time. The night is headlined by a middleweight contest between the returning Kris Gratalo and promotional newcomer Matt Semelsberger.
Francis Marshall competed in his first fight in May 2018, and hasn’t looked back. With four finishes to his credit, Marshall is one of the hottest prospects in the region according to Maverick promoter Willy Sisca.
“I’m very excited to announce the arrival of Francis Marshall into the professional ranks of Maverick lightweights,” Sisca told MyMMANews. “This is a division with LJ Reboli, Mike DeLouisa, Ryan Rizco, Nazim Sadykov and Marshall looks to add his name to the list of guys to look out for. He’s 20-years old. Heck, I still haven’t met the kid yet, but after two conversations with Kurt Pellegrino and a look at his perfect 5-0 record, it will be interesting to see where he can go. Marshall has been training under Pellegrino since he was a youngster and looks to follow in the footsteps of guys like George Sullivan when climbs the pro ranks. He starts out with a tough fighter from New York in Keith Forant. At 4-0 as a pro, Forant looks to derail the hype train that Marshall brings to town November 9.”
“Maverick 15 is a month out and is shaping up to be an amazing card,” Sisca said as he continued to talk about the fight card. Gratalo and Semelsberger is a huge fight that puts the winner at 5-2 and poised for a Middleweight title shot. Both of these guys are peaking in their careers and only 1 can come away victorious November 9th. I love this match up!”
