Undefeated prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov faces Carlston Harris at upcoming UFC Fight Night

Undefeated welterweight prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov is set to return to the Octagon in early 2022 when he takes on Carlston Harris.

Freak.MMA first reported this welterweight bout between Rakhmonov and Harris, which will take place at a UFC Fight Night card set for February 5. Take a look at the initial report following news of the fight.

BREAKING: “ Nomad “ is back! Shavkat Rakhmonov (14-0) vs Carlston Harris (17-4) Both agreed to fight on February 5th, location TBD per @danawhite

UFC president Dana White reportedly confirmed the fight, meaning that it is official for the February 5 card, which also features 10 other fights currently targeted for it. However, the card is still waiting for an official main event. As of right now, there is no headliner for the card. Although Rakhmonov and Harris are great fighters, they seem more likely two fighters who will be put onto the undercard, instead.

Rakhmonov (14-0) is 2-0 so far in the Octagon with submission wins over Alex Oliveira and Michel Prazeres. Rakhmonov is unbeaten so far in his MMA career and he is just 27 years old, so he still has the potential to get even better than he already is. There are already plenty of fans and media who are hyping him up as a potential title challenger in the future, and a win over Harris would help get him there.

Harris (17-4) is 2-0 so far in the UFC with a knockout win over Impa Kasanganay and a submission loss to Christian Aguilera. Harris is 34 years old and is currently riding a five-fight win streak overall, with all of those wins coming by way of stoppage. He appears to be in the prime of his MMA career right now and he could very well be a dark horse in the UFC welterweight division. If Harris is able to go in there and upset the apple cart with a win over Rakhmonov, he will certainly be in line for a top-15 opponent next.

Who do you think wins this welterweight bout between surging contenders Shavkat Rakhmonov and Carlston Harris?
