Valentin Moldavsky vs Linton Vassell II goes at Bellator 292 on Friday, March 10th.

Bellator MMA returns to the SAP Center in San Jose with the former interim heavyweight champion and a past title challenger in Moldavsky clashing with the number 2-ranked Linton Vassell. This transpires during the main card of Bellator 292 and serves as a title eliminator.

The main card of Bellator 292: Nurmagomedov vs. Henderson airs on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.

More soon-to-be-announced bouts will air live at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on the Bellator MMA YouTube channel, the Showtime Sports YouTube channel, as well as Pluto TV.

A well-regarded protégé of Fedor Emelianenko, Valentin Moldavsky is currently the Bellator heavyweight division’s No. 1-ranked contender. The 30-year-old bruiser previously captured interim Bellator gold and is aiming to become lineal champion someday. The combat sambo world champion is also eyeing a possible rematch with current champion Ryan Bader, who he faced early last year.

In their first fight, Moldavsky outpointed Vassell in 2019 en route to a unanimous decision win. He will now look to make history repeat itself in their sophomore bout and vault toward another world title shot. Linton Vassell looks to continue his winning ways since moving up to heavyweight from 205 pounds against Moldavsky in a few weeks’ time.

‘The Swarm’ has established himself well among the big boys over the last few years. Vassell has been rattling off victories across his last four straight and has put together three knockouts. The six-foot-four Kill Cliff FC combatant looks to avenge his Bellator 218 decision defeat to Moldavsky to set up a second crack at Bellator gold. Vassell has secured wins over Sergei Kharitonov, Ronny Markes, Tyrell Fortune, and Tim Johnson. At this juncture, it will take a win over his past rival to cement his chance at a title shot in a second Bellator MMA weight category.
