Video: Ciryl Gane puts on masterful performance, TKO’s Sergey Spivac in UFC Paris main event
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to us today, September 2, 2023, for UFC Paris, going down live from the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
Headlining the event was a heavyweight bout between a pair of contenders in no. 2 ranked former interim champion Ciryl Gane (12-2) and no. 7 ranked Sergey Spivac (16-4).
Gane came into the bout having lost to current champion Jon Jones in his most recent outing, while Spivac came in on a three-fight win streak. These two had two common opponents coming into today’s main event, both boasting stoppage victories over no. 6 ranked Tai Tuivasa and no. 10 ranked Derrick Lewis; Gane having knocked both of them out, and Spivac having submitted them both.

Official Result: Ciryl Gane def. Serghei Spivac via TKO (punches) at 3:44 of round two
Gane does a great job picking Spivac apart through the opening five minutes, stuffing his two takedown attempts with ease.
Gane continues chipping away with his crisp jab, and begins to land his knee to the body right up the middle. He mixes his body strikes in beautifully, and that’s ultimately what led to the finish.
After a series of knees, kicks, and punches to the body Gane goes upstairs and wobbles Spivac. The referee was forced to stop the action as Spivac was unable to defend himself, and Ciryl Gane gets back to his winning ways in front of his home crowd today at UFC Paris.
