Video: Marlon Moraes believes he should be next in line at 135

Interview with Marlon Moraes above

Marlon Moraes has found himself in a tough position in 2020. He hasn’t been able to get a fight all year and the division keeps on rolling.

Moraes could have potentially been next in line for a title shot considering he has wins over Aljamain Sterling, who’s potentially set to fight for the belt next, and José Aldo, who fought for the vacant championship just this month. Although it looks like Sterling is next, Moraes isn’t so sure that’s what Dana White wants next.

“Dana White’s an MMA fan,” Moraes said. “He’s a fighting fan. I don’t think he wants to see one guy trying to get the other guy’s head off but the other guy is just avoiding him, trying to hug him, scared to get hit. I think he wants to see a guy who’s going to get in there, is going to hit him, is going to hit back. If that guy doesn’t get knocked out, he’s going to get knocked out. I think that’s what Dana and that’s what the fans want to see.”

It’s a very complicated situation but it’s one that should be resolved in the very near future. The current champion, Petr Yan, needs a fight and both men believe they deserve it.
