Vinicius de Oliveira vs. Hikaru Yoshino added to UAE Warriors 39
Former UAE Warriors bantamweight champ Vinicius de Oliveira (17-3) meets former ONE and Rizin fighter Hikaru Yoshino (12-2) in the co-main event of UAE Warriors 39 on March 18. UAE Warrior officials confirmed the booking to MyMMANews.com earlier today.
The bout on March 18, will be a bantamweight contest that could determine the next in line for a title shot. The 27-year-old “Lok Dog” Oliveira, out of Brazil, lost the title to Ali Taleb in his last fight. He had previously been on a four-fight win-streak.
Yoshino, a judoka out of Japan, successfully made his UAE Warriors debut last October, earning a decision victory over Djamal Rustem. The 27-year-old fighter known as “The Painter” had previously he won fights in RIZIN, ONE, and DEEP.
Austria’s Mochamed Machaev (12-1) will face Bagdos Olzhabay (13-3) of Kazakhstan in the main event. Jay Anderson of Cageside Press was the first to report that pairing.
“Both Machaev and Olzhabay will be making their promotional debuts in the bout. Kazakh Olzhabay, 26-years old, has won his last five fights, with all five ending inside the distance, including four submissions,” the report states.
“Machaev, 23, has won his last two outings. He previously competed for XFN and Brave CF, among other promotions. “The Beast” had run up a 10-0 record prior to running into Gamzat Magomedov in 2021, but has bounced back nicely since then.”
This event will be part of another triple header of events for UAE Warriors at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and all live on UFC Fight Pass.
