Mackenzie Dern submitted in under 2 minutes
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Mackenzie Dern was submitted at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF’s) Rio Falls at the Tijuca Tenis Club gymnasium Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
It was Dern’s first submission loss in years. She was defeated by three-time jiu-jitsu world champion Bia Mesquita in the absolute final in just under two minutes.
Dern recently transitioned to mixed martial arts where she holds a perfect 3-0 record. She currently competes under the Legacy Fight Alliance banner and is coming off a March 10, unanimous decision win over Katherine Roy.
