Wilson Reis Joins Aries Fighting Championship

Wilson Reis Joins Ares Fighting Championship

Ares Fighting Championship, an Afro-European based MMA organization, continues its forward movement with the signing of former UFC flyweight Wilson Reis. Friday April 3, 2020 is the scheduled date for Aries FC 2.

  • Adding Another Legitimate Talent

Reis is a huge signing for the budding organization with big name recognition. He is a 13 fight veteran of the UFC including a title bout with Demetrious Johnson and a victory over another recent Ares FC signing, John Moraga.  The former EliteXC bantamweight champion will enter Ares as an immediate title contender. Reis is a deadly submission artist with 10 of his 23 professional victories coming by Submissions. He is a highly decorated black belt of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu feared for his dangerous skills.

Ares Fighting Championship continues their expansion with a handful of UFC veterans on their second card. In the main event Nordine Taleb battles Maarten Wouters. Moraga also makes his promotional debut as he takes on Hector Sandival. Another UFC veteran and KSW competitor, Luis Henrique, will also compete in the heavyweight division on this card.

Ares Fighting Championship is making such a push to sign top level talent. Could they eventually grow into another powerful alternative? They are looking to join the ranks of European powerhouses such as KSW, Cage Warriors, and M-1.  A rematch between Reis and Moraga from their UFC days looks all but imminent which would be huge in a smaller developing MMA market such as Africa.
