UFC 201 Results:  Lawler vs. Woodley

Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia hosts tonight’s UFC 201 which includes a pay-per-view main card and prelims on FS2 and UFC Fight Pass.  In the main event UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler defended against Tyron Woodley and it was Woodley who earned the knockout upset to become the new champion.

In the co-main event Karolina Kowalkiewicz aimed to move up the women’s strawweight ladders as she took on top-ranked Rose Namajunas.  Kowalkiewicz earned the split decision win and will likely fight for the title in her next bout.

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)

  • Tyron Woodley defeated Robbie Lawler via KO – Round 1, 2:12 – for welterweight title
  • Karolina Kowalkiewicz defeated Rose Namajunas via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Jake Ellenberger defeated Matt Brown via TKO – Round 1, 1:46
  • Erik Perez defeated Francisco Rivera via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-28)
  • Ryan Benoit defeated Fredy Serrano via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

PRELIMINARY CARD (FS2, 8 p.m. ET)

  • Nikita Krylov defeated Ed Herman via KO (head kick) – Round 2, 0:40
  • Jorge Masvidal defeated Ross Pearson via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
  • Anthony Hamilton defeated Damian Grabowski via KO – Round 1, 0:14
  • Wilson Reis defeated Hector Sandoval via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 1, 1:49

PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 7 p.m. ET)

  • Michael Graves vs. Bojan Velickovic declared a majority draw (30-27, 28-28, 28-28)
  • Damien Brown defeated Cesar Arzamendia via KO – Round 1, 2:27
