$50,000 performance bonuses added to ONE Championship fight cards
A new incentive will be added to the mix for fighters competing under the ONE Championship fight banner. Chatri Sityodtong, CEO of the Singapore-based combat sports promotion, will be now be awarding US$50,000 performance bonuses at every event going forward, according to a report from Nicolas Atkin of the South China Morning Post.
“A minimum of one bonus will be given out at each show, with a maximum of five awarded, based on fighters’ performances – and losers can win it too,” the report states.
The report goes on to say that the promotion already handed out its first pair of performance bonuses at December’s ONE: Winter Warriors fight card, with Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev and Timofey Nastyukhin becoming the first recipients of the bonuses under the new system.
ONE Championship will hold its first card of 2022 with Friday’s ONE: Heavy Hitters event, headlined by a flyweight title bout between Jingman Xiong and Ayaka Miura.
