80s Wrestling Con 2 highlights, photos, and video – Check it out
80s Wrestling Con 2 was held at the iPlay America Center in Freehold, New Jersey on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Pro wrestling fans were able to meet and greet some of their favorite superstars of past and present.
Some of the biggest names in in the industry and inductees of the WWE Hall of Fame were on hand, as well more than a dozen vendors and several notable pro wrestling podcasts.
Names such as Sgt. Slaughter, Bob Backlund, Tony Atlas, Paul Orndorff, Haku, Tugboat, Demolition (Ax and Smash), The Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell and Brian Blair), Doink the Clown, Tito Santana, Tatanka, Francine, Enzo Amore, The Brooklyn Brawler (Steve Lombardi), Brutus the Barber Beefcake, Virgil, and Ted DiBiase (The Million Dollar Man) all came together to put on a fantastic event for the fans.
Spectators were able to meet and greet the stars, take photos, grab autographs, purchase swag, and more. Several participated in a Q&A session with the fans.
The highlight of the event was a costume contest that saw fans dress up as characters such as Sgt. Slaughter, Jake The Snake Roberts, Macho Man, a referee, and more. In the end, a young man who dressed up as Ted DiBiase was selected by special guest judge…. Ted DiBiase to win. Guess everybody has a price to pay for the Million Dollar Man. The winning fan took home a brand new $100 bill as his winning prize.
The event was sponsored by Hell’s Kitchen Hot Sauce. They even held a hot sauce eating contest which I was able to enter and win/share first place with another participant after others had been eliminated.
This was the second event for the promotion after holding their inaugural convention earlier this year. Stay tuned for updates on any upcoming 80s Wrestling Con events.
