Aaron Jeffery inks new six-fight deal with Bellator MMA following upset win over Austin Vanderford
Business is booming for middleweight Aaron Jeffery following his big win at Bellator 284 last week. Jeffery, who took a short-notice fight against No. 2 ranked Austin Vanderford, scored a quick first-round finish of the former middleweight title challenger on just 9 days notice, and announced his arrival to the entire middleweight division.
The win was the second for Aaron Jeffery in as many fights since joining Bellator MMA and now he’s seeing the benefits of those back-to-back wins. After notching his win over Vanderford, Jeffery found himself inside the Top-10 rankings, being slotted at No. 6 in the middleweight division. Now that he finds himself near the top of the division, Jeffery also got even more reason to stick with Bellator MMA.
In an interview with MyMMANews, Jeffery revealed that he has signed a new six-fight deal with the promotion following his victory at Bellator 284.

“No, man, it’s crazy. This will be breaking news right now, I don’t know if any other media sites or anybody knows but, I got a new contract yesterday from Bellator also. I had a few drinks last night, I was pretty drunk and my manager called me and told me about this new deal and I woke up this morning and I was like ‘Damn man, that actually happened last night, that’s pretty crazy.’ But yeah, I’m at a pretty good spot in my career right now, I’m pretty happy.”
Aaron Jeffery would go on to reveal that his new deal with Bellator MMA is a six-fight deal and will set him up for an opportunity to keep climbing up the rankings and continue his path towards a future title fight in the middleweight division. With a win over a former title challenger and a ranking slot just outside the Top-5, Jeffery wasn’t set on calling out a specific opponent, but did mention he’d like to return later this fall and a matchup against No. 5 ranked Dalton Rosta intrigues him.
