Alistair Overeem, Bard Hari

Alistair Overeem vs. Badr Hari trilogy booked for Glory Collision 4

Alistair Overeem is set to make his return to the kickboxing ring for the first time in nearly 12 years, and it will be against a familiar foe in Badr Hari.

Glory Kickboxing announced today that the trilogy between Overeem and Hari is set for October 8th.

Overeem has spent nearly 10 years under the UFC banner, eventually parting ways with the promotion in 2021. Prior to his incredible UFC run, Overeem had won titles with notable promotions such as Strikeforce, DREAM, K-1, and Pride.

With a professional MMA record of 47-12-0 and 1 NC, Overeem has defeated the likes of Paul Buentello, Mark Hunt, Fabricio Werdum, and Brock Lesnar. With a record of 10-4 in professional kickboxing, Overeem has collected wins over notable opponents such as Tyrone Spong and Peter Aerts.

Overeem’s opposition this October will be Hari, who holds a kickboxing record of 106-17-0 with 2 NC. As a former K-1 heavyweight champion, he has defeated the likes of Anderson Silva, Stefan Leko, and Peter Graham. Having not won a bout since 2015, Hari will look to get back in the win column over fellow former champion Overeem.

The matchup will be a familiar one for the two experienced kickboxers. They first met back in 2008, when Overeem defeated Hari via first-round knockout. Just a year later, the two met again in the semi-finals of the K-1 World Grand Prix. This time, Hari got the job done with a first-round knockout of his own.

The bout is set to follow Overeem’s professional wrestling debut and will take place on October 8th, 2022 in Arnhem, Netherlands. So far, this is the only bout announced for the Glory: Collision 4 card.

How do you see this one going down?
