I spoke with Anatoly Malykhin and ONE Super Series sensation Jonathan Haggerty at the post-event media day. Excerpts from our interactions are below.

Anatoly Malykhin

If this melding of wrestling and striking was the greatest representation of Malykhin’s skillset he’s showcased under the ONE Championship banner so far

“I can do everything. I can do wrestling, I can do striking, and I’m a player. I’m a chess player, I’m a checker player. I’m the best and the best in this game.”

Anatoly Malykhin’s hobby of assembling Lego and how much of that 100k bonus he garnered is going to be allocated in that direction

“Now I will assemble something in the mirror for my wife using the Lego.”

Jonathan Haggerty

Jonathan Haggerty bested Mongkolpetch Petchyindee via unanimous decision in the ONE: Bad Blood co-main event. This transpired on February 11th and the pugilistic proceedings emanated from Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion again expands his winning streak and collected a 50 K bonus in the process.

The UK warrior now seems poised for yet another clash against the current reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The multiplicity of elbow strikes showcased and how much of martial arts is a creative expression for Haggerty

“I’m as creative as they come you know. I can create power. Anything I can create. I’m just excited right now, sorry (laughs).”

How Haggerty plans to celebrate the big win there

“You know what mate, I just look forward to getting into my room now and looking at my phone. Looking at all the support that I’ve had. Just looking at the Instagram Stories, etc. That’s my celebration, and maybe a chocolate brownie.”
