Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will return to the octagon to face undefeated star Israel Adesanya at UFC 234 on February 9, 2019.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news to ESPN earlier today.
Silva is coming off a one-year suspension for a failed drug test in October 2017. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency ruled that the test failure came as a result of a contaminated dietary supplement. Silva defeated Derek Brunson earlier that year by way of decision.
Adesanya is coming off a big win at UFC 230 over Brunson earlier this month.
UFC 234 takes place at the Rod Laver Arena. The Silva-Adesanya fight will serve as the co-main event to the middleweight title bout between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum.
