ARES Fighting Championship launches on December 14 from Dakar, Senegal

On December 14, live from Dakar, Senegal, ARES Fighting Championship will enter the mixed martial arts market with a big international card.

Conceived by Vivendi Sports, the Afro-European promotion enters the market with big plans heading into 2020. Leading ARES Fighting Championship is Fernand Lopez, manager and coach to such UFC stars like Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane.

ARES 1 will be headlined by a light heavyweight match-up between Brazilian UFC veteran Ildemar Alcantara (26-13) and ‘Captain Lithuania’ Laurynas Urbonavicius (12-1). Undefeated Senegalese wrestling champion Oumar Kane aka ‘Reug Reug’ aka ‘The King’ will make his highly anticipated MMA debut in a huge heavyweight contest against the dangerous Sofiane Boukichou (6-3) in the co-main event.

Elsewhere on the card, Taylor Lapilus (15-3), who went 3-1 in the UFC, will take on 22-year-old Brazilian dynamo Marcos Breno (12-1); top Finnish fighter Glenn Sparv (21-6) meets Gregory Babene (19-11) who comes into ARES after a 3-0 run in Bellator. Polish UFC veteran Lukasz Sajewski (14-4) will face former BAMMA champion Damien Lapilus (16-12-2) in an exciting lightweight contest.

Other notable fighters on the card include Olympian Rizlen Zouak (3-1), undefeated social media star Jamila Sandora (5-0), DWCS & TUF vet Josh Parisian (10-3), and top Mexican fighter Nayib Lopez (11-0).
