Two top-tier regional middleweight strikers will collide in center of the Art of War Cage Fighting cage at Art of War 11 on Feb. 16. The AOW 11 main event between Joe “BodyBagz” Pyfer and Eric “The Viking” Roncoroni is creating a lot of buzz and will be contested for the promotion’s middleweight title.
The two men will meet at the 2300 Arena on Saturday in what is the second of two fight cards the promotion is holding that weekend.
Roncoroni (5-5) is looking to get back on track after losing three straight fights, two by way of decision. He is the former Ring of Combat middleweight champion and loves a good scrap but feels that his opponents only want to take him down and hold him. In the above preview video, Coach Don Cioffi talks about how guys who fight “The Viking” like to get the fight down to the ground and lay and pray for a win. Cioffi states that most every fighter realizes they cannot stand and bang with Roncoroni and immediately go for a level change.
Pyfer (3-0) hopes to continue his winning ways. After putting together a highlight reel amateur MMA career full of first round finishes, Pyfer turned pro in 2018. Since then he has recorded a knockout, a submission, and a decision victory.
This is a fight you do not want to miss.
