Ashlee Evans-Smith moves to flyweight, meets Bec Rawlings

Ashlee Evans-Smith will make the drop down from bantamweight to flyweight when she meets Bec Rawlings at UFC 223 on April 7.

After back-to-back losses at 135-pounds, Evans-Smith will look get back on the winning track down at 125-pounds.

The California native Evans-Smith dropped both a unanimous decision to Ketlen Vieira and then a submission loss to Sarah Moras in 2017.  The two losses last year came after she had earned back-to-back octagon wins in 2016.

Rawlings a former strawweight competitor moved up to 125-pounds in 2017 when she dropped a split decision loss to Jessica-Rose Clark.  The loss was after back-to-back losses at strawweight to Paige VanZant and Tecia Torres.

UFC 223 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and features two title fights on the night.  Tony Ferguson will meet Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight title and Rose Namajunas will defend her strawweight title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
