Beat the Streets 2020

Beat The Streets Adds Joe Colon vs. Seth Gross To Card

Beat the Streets in New York adds it’s third wrestling bout to it’s card. Joe Colon, a World bronze medalist in 2018, will take on the NCAA champion Seth Gross in a men’s freestyle match.

In 2018, Colon won bronze at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. In addition to that, he won the Pan American Championships in 2018 and 2019. He wrestled for Northern Iowa and was an NCAA All-American and a juco champion at Iowa Central.

On the other side of the mat, Seth Gross is also a very accomplished wrestler. He won the NCAA title in 2018 for South Dakota State and was the runner up in 2017. He then transferred to Wisconsin and was having a fantastic season going before the pandemic stopped the season. His win at the 2019 Bill Farrell International qualified him for the US Olympic Team Trials.

The card takes place on September 17th and you can get more information about it on their website: btsny.org.

Building Beat the Streets

Beat the Streets is doing a virtual telethon. Usually, it is a charity event with fans but this time, due to the times we are in, the Beat the Streets team is forced to get creative on fund raising. There will be no fans and the location is undisclosed. Safety is the priority for the wrestlers on the card.

Beat the Streets’ goal is to aim and develop human and athletic potential of the urban youth and strengthen the culture of New York City wrestling according to their website.
