Bellator 225: Austin Vanderford batters Joseph Creer for doctor’s stoppage win

On Saturday night, Aug. 24, 2019, Bellator MMA returns to Connecticut for Bellator 225. The event emanates from Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., the promotion’s first state sanctioned event.

Included on a loaded preliminary card is a middleweight bout between Austin Vanderford and Joseph Creer. Vanderford, who is the husband of UFC women’s flyweight Paige VanZant, makes his second appearance for Bellator after a successful submission victory in his debut at Bellator 215 in February. “The Gentleman” recently told MyMMANews.com that he plans to stay in the middleweight division moving forward.

Standing in front of him is the unbeaten Creer, who replaced Vanderford’s originally scheduled opponent Doug Usher. The 37-year-old returns to action after over a year layoff and is currently on a six-fight winning streak.

Here is how the fight between Vanderford and Creer went down, including round-by-round scoring, at Bellator 225.
