Bellator 225 results: Ricky Bandejas back in the win column with quick KO

On Saturday night, Aug. 24, 2019, Bellator MMA returns to Connecticut for Bellator 225. The event emanates from Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., the promotion’s first state sanctioned event.

During the preliminary card, Ricky Bandejas looks to bounce back from back-to-back losses against Ahmet Kayretli. After making a huge splash in his Bellator debut — a first round TKO win over James Gallagher at Bellator 204 a little over a year ago — Bandejas has lost two straight fights for the first time in his career. In January, the 27-year-old was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision to Juan Archuleta at Bellator 214, and was finished by Patrick Mix five months later at Bellator 222.

Kayretli will also look to get back in the win column after suffering a third-round submission defeat at the hands of Levi Mowles at March’s LFA 62 event.

Here is how the bantamweight bout between Ricky Bandejas and Ahmet Kayretli went down at Bellator 225, including round-by-round scoring. Get full results of Saturday night’s event right here.

ROUND 1

Bandejas lands a right hand and a leg kick early. Body kick lands by Bandejas, caught by Kayretli momentarily. Bandejas takes his time, being patient here, and he drops Kayretli with a huge right hand, follows up with a couple of hammer fists and that’s a wrap! Big bounce back win for Bandejas.

Official result: Ricky Bandejas def. Ahmet Kayretli via KO – Round 1, 1:21
