Bellator 237 results – Fedor vs. ‘Rampage’ Jackson

Bellator MMA will hold Bellator 237 on Saturday, December 28, live from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

The event’s main card will be broadcast on Paramout and DAZN, while the post-lims can be streamed live on the Bellator MMA YouTube channel following the night’s main event.

In the main event, former world champions Fedor Emelianenko and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson met at heavyweight. Yesterday at weigh-ins, the former UFC light heavyweight champion in “Rampage” came in at the heavyweight limit of 265 pounds, while Emelianenko was nearly a full 25-pounds lighter at 240.5.  Fedor came out swinging and lighting “Rampage” up at every angle.  In just 2:44, the greatest heavyweight in the sport claimed a knockout victory in the arena where he claimed fame, Saitama.

In the co-main event slot, former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler took on late replacement for Benson Henderson, Sidney Outlaw.  It took just 2:59 for the former three time world champion to put Outlaw away with a big right hand.

What an impressive performance by Goiti Yamauchi to kick off the fight card on Paramount.  Yamauchi submits former UFC fighter and nine time RIZIN veteran Daron Cruickshank in the very first round by way of rear-naked choke.  Cruickshank actually went limp from the hold and when he came to, went into a defensive position against the referee.

Kana Watanabe remains undefeated in her professional career moving to 9-0-1 with a third round finish of Ilara Joanna.  With just 21 seconds remaining in the fight, referee Kevin MacDonald called an end to the contest as Watanabe battered her opponent from top position.

Lorenz Larkin picked up his fourth straight win as he defeated Keita Nakamura via unanimous decision.  Very cool moment as Larkin made his way to the cage and he turned and faced the jumbotron to “take it all in” as Big John McCarthy called it on the broadcast.  Fighting at the Saitama Super Arena was a “bucket list” item for Larkin.

Michael “Venom” Page picks up another win in impressive fashion with a second round knockout of Shinsho Anzai.  There really was no moment in the fight where Page was considered to be in danger, he just continued to pick his opponent apart from bell to bell.
