Ken Shamrock and his team at Valor Bare Knuckle have announced that their scheduled January 11, 2020, VBK2 fight card has been postponed.
VBK:1 Heavyweight Tournament Winner Mark “The Hand Of” Godbeer was supposed to defend his title against Lavar Johnson in the main event. Several days ago Godbeer posted a rant on social media indicating that something was off and that the fight might not happen. That posting has since been removed from social media, but then Godbeer put up another post indicative of today’s announcement from Valor.
Godbeer wrote: “When you get told something you expected for the last few weeks. Been there got the t-shirt. Anyway time to enjoy what’s left of Xmas”
Four days later we now have the official announcement from Valor as per the promotion’s website and social media accounts:
“It is unfortunate and unforeseen that we are writing today to you – our fans – in regards to postponing the VBK2 event, which was due to be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida.
It is our absolute belief that we are obligated to deliver the highest quality entertainment to our fans each and every time we host an event.
After much deliberation, we felt that this standard would not be met on the originally scheduled date. Given the short time amount of time until VBK2, an alternate solution wasn’t feasible.
Therefore, on behalf of the entire Valor BK team, we would like to sincerely apologize for postponing the VBK2 event and any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Please stay tuned for our announcement when VBK2 will take place, as we are diligently working to bring you the show you’re expecting and deserve!
Valor BK Team”
As of press time there is no word as to when Valor Bare Knuckle will reschedule the event for.
