Bellator 262 Media Day: Travis Davis and Cody Law
Bellator 262 takes place on Friday, July 16th and emanates from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. This upcoming Bellator MMA card broadcasts on Showtime.
Bellator 262 Media Day
I participated in Bellator 262 Media Day and spoke with Travis Davis as well as Cody Law ahead of their respective bouts.
Below are the excerpts from my interactions with both fighters.
Travis Davis
I was noticing last month, it seemed like you were in a different bubble there. You were in the PFL bubble and now you’re pretty much transitioning right into this one with Bellator.
How’s the experience been with the Bellator bubble so far?
“A night and day difference, man. This bubble obviously was a lot shorter you know. The PFL bubble, the first time I went was 19 days and the second time I went was 12 days. I’ve only been here since Sunday. So this one’s been smooth sailing. I gotta say it was an experience that I’m glad I went through though. Because it’s making this one even easier to deal with. The PFL bubble, it was rough.”
And I’m curious as a quick follow up because your boxing experience was mentioned before.
Not overlooking this fight here obviously. But just with this one being on Showtime, is there any desire to concurrently have opportunities in boxing and MMA if you have your druthers?
“Absolutely. They’re getting ready do the Paul and Woodley fight in Cleveland, Ohio. I’m from Columbus, Ohio. So, if you know, all works out. I would love for Bellator to say hey yeah you know I win this fight and they let me continue to box outside of the promotion with Showtime. I think that would be awesome but you know I’ll cross that road when it comes I guess. See how they feel about that.”
Cody Law
I saw the pic on Instagram a few weeks back of you getting in work with Marlon Moraes.
I’m kind of curious who primarily you’ve been working with at American Top Team ahead of this one.
“Yeah, mostly Marlon. I started out camp training with Dustin (Poirier) a little bit and then for the majority of my camp was with Marlon. He helped me out a lot, gave me a lot of good rounds. It’s been a good camp.”
