Bellator London: Tim “The Experiment” Wilde Post Fight Scrum
Tim “The Experiment” Wilde and Charlie Leary, in my opinion , was one the most underestimated fights on the Bellator London card and these two warriors definitely did not disappoint the fans with back and forth strikes all the way until the final bell. When the judges scorecards were read out, many felt Leary had done enough to earn the victory, however, the judges scored in the favour of Wilde to the dismay of many watching on.
In the first round, both fighters landed numerous shots with Leary landing cleaner strikes resulting in two knockdowns in the first round. Wilde continuously battled back to his feet and continued to push forward. In the second Wilde got the better of the exchanges resulting in Leary hitting the mat. These athletes displayed the same toughness throughout the third leaving the judges with a decision to make.
The last time we saw Wilde he was headlining Bellator Birmingham versus Brent Primus, arguably the second best fighter in the division but came up short losing via submission. I was intrigued to discuss if Primus is on his radar again or someone of that calibre, and how his preparations and fight with Leary felt in comparison to Primus?
“What I want to say is this. That for me was three rounds in the bag, that’s going to do me and my fighting career wonders so regardless of the result watch me in the next fight and ill be ten times better. So prior to that I fought Primus and got caught by the number two in the division and before that it had been 12 months so in my eyes I hadn’t fought for 18 months because I didn’t really get going in that Primus fight. So I now I have that ring rust out I am ready to go again.”
Wilde is determined to return to the cage when Bellator return to Dublin next year and is open to a rematch with Leary if he wishes.
