Bellator signs prospect Wyatt Barber, brother of UFC’s Maycee Barber
The Barber family now has another pro athlete in the family. Today, Wyatt Barber, the younger brother of UFC women’s flyweight Maycee Barber, signed with Bellator. ESPN was first to report the signing.
Wyatt Barber, who fights at featherweight, made his amateur debut in June of 2019. The younger Barber won that fight against Julian Valencia by TKO. There is no timeline or opponent scheduled for the 18-year-old prospect.
Barber and his sister train out of Roufusport MMA Academy in Milwaukee. The two learned to fight in Fort Collins, Colorado before moving to Wisconsin.
Both Barbers are very supportive of each other. Wyatt is often around Maycee during her fight weeks in the UFC. Maycee is proud of her sibling and congratulated him in an Instagram post.
“This is a Family Business,” Maycee wrote. “Time to continue making memories in the UFC Octagon and now in the Bellator MMA cage as well. Debut date coming soon!!”
Maycee Barber, 21, is one of the top prospects in all of women’s MMA. Right now, she is recovering from a torn ACL, which she injured during her fight against Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 246. She is expected to be out until the end of the year.
