Benson Henderson vs. Peter Queally set for Bellator’s return to Dublin
The first fight has been announced for Bellator’s return to Dublin in September of this year.
It will be a three-round lightweight bout between the number three ranked Benson Henderson and number five ranked Peter Queally.
After speculation on if Henderson would return to the cage, he recently signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion, which he will add to the six years he has spent with Bellator already.
The former UFC and WEC champion holds a professional record of 29-11-0. In his last outing, Henderson pulled off a huge upset victory over Islam Mamedov.
The 38-year-old and MMA Lab alumn will be standing across from 33-year-old Queally (13-6-1).
During his time with the promotion, Queally has defeated the likes of Ryan Scope and Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. In his last outing, he suffered a loss at the hands of “Pitbull” in a rematch at Bellator 270.
For his matchup with Henderson, “The Showstopper,” won’t have to travel far. The SBG Ireland alumn was born in raised in Ireland and will be fighting in front of his home crowd once again.
Bellator Dublin takes place on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the 3 Arena in Dublin.
The night of fights will be broadcasted on Showtime and tickets are now available on Ticketmaster.
