Bobby Nash Out of XMMA 4

A knee injury has forced Nash out of the April event

Bobby Nash (12-4) who is on a four-fight win streak is going to have to step out the upcoming XMMA 4: Black Magic event in New Orleans. The event is scheduled for April 2 and is now down to 11 bouts with the removal of Nash vs Felipe Boaventura, who was also removed from the card last week according to MMA Island, who was first to report the news of both sides of the scheduled bout.

Nash confirmed the injury on his own social media accounts Wednesday, where he said he hurt his knee, “pretty bad in training last week.” He also wrote that it was swollen and “can hardly walk on it,” so he will need some time to recover. See his post below:

Nash’s win streak came from his time in the XFC which seems to have faded away with little or no notice to the fighters according to a recent interview with the welterweight. Nash was in a tournament he was favored to win and was part of his road back into the UFC. XMMA 4 is an event that touted having 14 ex-UFC fighters and Nash was already back on the UFC’s radar.

The timing is unfortunate since the date of the event will likely draw a lot of attention on a rare Saturday night where there is no UFC event taking place.

The event is now down to 11 bouts and according to the MMA Island tweet, the promotion is still looking to get one more in but currently these are the listed bouts:

John Dodson vs. Francisco Rivera

Jared Gooden vs. Curtis Millender

John Howard vs. Ange Loosa

Kyle Bochniak vs. Carlton Minus

Zak Ottow vs. Kyle Stewart

Tyrek Malveaux vs. Matt Sayles

Cole Smith vs. John Sweeney

Kyron Bowen vs. Sasha Palatnikov

Adli Edwards vs. Josh Harvey

Tateki Matsuda vs. Louie Sanoudakis

Andrew Garrette vs. Justin Mead
