Brandon Royval makes quick turnaround against Brandon Moreno at UFC 255 on Nov. 21
Opportunity is calling for Brandon Royval.
Fresh off a submission win against Kai-Kara France at UFC 253 last Saturday, Sept. 26, Royval is stepping in to fight Brandon Moreno at UFC 255 on Nov. 21.
Moreno needed an opponent after Alex Perez replaced the injured Cody Garbrandt, challenging the champion Deiveson Figueirdo on the same card. First reported by BJPenn.com, Royval is already making his third UFC appearance after signing with the promotion in May.
Royval was set to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series this past summer, but instead has already rattled off back-to-back “Fight of the Night” victories inside the octagon. In his UFC debut, Royval submitted former title challenger Tim Elliot in the second round at UFC on ESPN 9 on May 30.
The 28-year-old won his last four victories by submission.
Moreno is on a streak of his own, unbeaten in his last four appearances. He comes off back-to-back decision wins against Jussier Formiga and Kara-France. Moreno received a draw against Askar Askarov at UFC on ESPN+ 17 in September 2019.
