James Sheehan vs Karol Michalak Set for Cage Warriors 135

Breaking: James Sheehan vs Karol Michalak Set for Cage Warriors 135

A welterweight fight between Ireland’s James Sheehan (3-2) and Poland’s Karol Michalak (3-1) is set to take place at Cage Warriors 135 on Friday, April 1 in Manchester’s BEC Arena. Multiple sources with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the news to MyMMANews.com.

James Sheehan trains out of Team Ryano, and though still young in his pro career, the Dubliner has already faced an impressive list of opponents. His sole amateur loss came against future UFC fighter Rostem Akman at the 2016 IMMAF World Championships, while his two pro defeats were against former Cage Warriors champions Matt Bonner and Ian Garry. Since losing to fellow Irishman (and now UFC prospect) Garry in 2019, Sheehan has impressed in both his subsequent wins over Kyran Sturrock and Omiel Brown. Sheehan will look to make it three wins on the bounce against Michalak, as the Irishman continues to make his presence felt in the Cage Warriors welterweight division.

Karol Michalak will make his Cage Warriors promotional debut against Sheehan. The Polish fighter trains out of Team HoneyBadgers in Eindhoven, Netherland, alongside former Cage Warriors lightweight champion Agi Sardari. Michalak has finished all three of his pro victories, though he will face his most experienced opponent to date when he competes against James Sheehan.

Cage Warriors 135 takes place on Friday 1st April and will be broadcast LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
